Dire Dawa’s Call for
Help!
Mother nature
has again struck Ethiopians unexpectedly. This time around, the
victim is not Korem or Bugna. Nor is the disaster related to the
usual drought. Dire - the City of Love - is flooded. Hundreds
of people have died as a result of the recent flood that swept
the city. Many more others are displaced and still others are an
accounted for.
Expressing its
deepest sympathy to the affected families, the Ethiopian
Consulate in Los Angeles calls upon all Ethiopians and Foreign
nationals of Ethiopian origin to support the on-going relief and
recovery efforts at home. Please help save the lives of
children, women and all the victims now. Any amount of donation
is much appreciated.
You can send
your donations to the Ethiopian Consulate General in Los
Angeles. Money order or personal checks are acceptable. Your
money will be directly channeled to the beneficiaries through
Ethiopia’s Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Agency.
